FAQS - These are some of the frequent questions we are asked about our ranges of lamp holders

Q. What does SES stand for?
A. SES stands for Small Edison Screw - this lamp holder is used with light bulbs with a screw base not a prong base

Q) My lamp holder starts to come loose when I remove my light bulb,  how can I stop this from happening?
A) If your lamp holder has a locking nut (we will include this information in the item description) tighten the locking nut and this will resolve this issue.  If your lamp holder does not have a locking nut screw a nut on to the threaded rod and then screw your lamp holder down tight to the nut, when you next need to remove your light bulb the lamp holder will remain firmly in place

Q) I have locked my Edison Screw lamp holder  how do I unlock it?
A)  We have produced a video showing how to  release your lamp holder https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nwf4xBuR4Zw

Q) Which terminal is the live terminal and which is the neutral?
A) As long as the earth cable is wired in correctly to the earthing point which will be indicated by an earth symbol it does not matter which terminal is used for the live and neutral

  1. Remember when working with electrics TURN OFF the electric supply at the mains and make sure that EVERYBODY in the building knows NOT to turn the power supply back on until YOU tell them it is SAFE to do so.
  2. if possible have someone else present in case of an emergency
  3. If working on ceiling lights, chandeliers etc. have someone to hold the ladder for you - accidents happen when there is no-one holding the ladder secure
  4. When working with chandeliers etc that are suspended YOU move around the chandelier DO NOT move the chandelier to you, yes it is a bit of a pain having to keep decending the ladder and ascending but if you move the chandelier round to you then this could unscrew the ceiling connectors or damage the electric cabling and connections
